My background is in the helping professions both in the voluntary and the statutory sector where I have worked for over 35 years. I managed the counselling service for Mind in Croydon and have now expanded my private practice.
I have over 20 years experience working as a counsellor and am accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means I abide by the BACP's ethical framework and guidance on good practice in counselling and psychotherapy. For more information visit: www.bacp.co.uk
I have worked with individuals and groups and have considerable experience of mental health issues and addiction. Some of the issues I have worked with are anxiety, depression, bipolar, personality disorder, alcohol and drug addiction, co- dependency, employment issues, and relationship issues. I also supervise trainee counsellors, both in groups and individuals.
My training is in Integrative Humanistic Counselling, this means that I will treat you as a whole person, mind body and spirit. I have been taught a wide range of styles. I do not use one approach all of the time but choose from the range according to what will suit and help you.
